What will it take for Rowdy to get back in the game? Perhaps one of the strangest kids’ sitcoms from his own youth?
Interesting fact Candace Cameron Bure from Full House nearly got the role of Vicki in this show.
WELCOME BACK ROWDY!
You know, I actually think you should do more shows that are not very good but not like the god-awful raunchy stuff that you reviewed back in the Spring. One thing that would help would be to go after TV shows in other genres, since I’ve seen you do mostly cartoons, sitcoms, actions and dramas which a number of them can be bad of course. But when I think of TV overall there’s also news shows like Hard Copy and A Current Affair, talk shows like Richard Bey and Charles Perez, game shows like 3’s a Crowd and I’m Telling, sketch comedies like She TV and The Dana Carvey Show, and infomercials like the Santo Gold video I e-mailed you a few months ago, all of which I’ve seen before either in first run or on YouTube out of curiosity. I would suggest commentary shows but that would probably be polarizing.
Having a TV Treasure once every six or seven weeks might also be a good idea. Some that I can think of might be debatable like some MTV shows I used to watch such as Sifl and Olly, Oddities, and Buzzkill. But yeah, I think the main thing you need going forward would be more variety with the kinds of programs you review. Maybe that way, you can ignore reality television once and for all.
You should review Dads sometime after the DVD comes out.
Great review. I used to watch this show as a kid, but whenever I bring it up nobody seems to remember it. It was a bit silly, sure, but I look back on it fondly.
Sorry to hear about the actor who played Jamie, though. Hope things turn around for the guy.
Small Wonder still looks better than Blossom. The former doesn’t look as bad as some people say, but I just don’t find the latter funny.
Excellent review Rowdy!!! You rock!!! I can’t believe I don’t remember this show!
