Nice. If you want another interesting example of a film made into a series, I think Killer Tomatoes would do nicely. Just a suggestion.
I’m still waiting on a review of the Rambo or Robocop cartoons.
I’m sure they will come eventually.
I only saw a few episodes of the live action Punky Brewster when it aired in reruns, and I honestly didn’t see anything special about it. The only sitcom I regularly watched in my early years was The Cosby Show, most everything else I liked to watch was either a cartoon or a game show. As for this cartoon, I remember it mainly because it came on after Alvin and I didn’t really mind it. Personally, I think keeping the focus on Punky is fine because after all she is the title character and they at least allow her friends to shine at times. Henry, even if he was more developed in the live-action series, was never going to be the most appreciated character either way and perhaps it was better to see him take a back seat.
Also, I’m glad you had the sense to defend Glomer to a point. He may have been put in just out of capability, but at least it was not in a circumstance where it would detracted from what kids really wanted. It reminds me, I thinking about commissioning a friend of mine for a St. Patrick’s Day picture with him in it.
Fun fact about the live action Punky Brewster show:
They did two very unique “very special episodes about topics no one else touched on a sit con in the 1980’s:
One was about why you shouldn’t hide in abandoned refrigerators
The other was about…..SERIAL KILLERS.
Wow, this really brings back memories.
I didn’t realize it as a kid, but there were TONS of “magical friend” shows and movies in the 80s. I blame E.T. Also I think there’s an editing glitch at the 14 minute mark, where it looks like a blooper sneaked into the final video.
Maybe. This thing was hell in editing, mainly because I had a brand new version of iMovie sprung on me and wasn’t ready for it, so I had to do everything on an older version on my laptop.
